Collegiate Bowling Life: Summer Update
By. Verity Crawley
After my summer in England, I am now back in Florida. My summer consisted of training for the World Youth Championships in Hong Kong. There’s not too much to say about the event, it was an amazing experience but I didn’t perform the way I would have liked. I actually really struggled, I didn’t have the ball shape that I needed and it cost me. I made a few wrong decisions and it kind of went down hill from there. I tried to grind it out, but I just wasn’t good enough. I wish the outcome was different but of course I can’t change that now, I learnt so much and it’s just going to make me even stronger. It has made me more determined for college bowling and to bowl more tournaments outside of college. I realised that the only way to make the right decisions is to have to have the experience of having made them countless of times before. Of course I am disappointed, I feel like I worked so hard towards the event and all that work didn’t pay off. But when you actually sit down and think, it’s not the end if the world. It’s just another tournament. There will be plenty more!
Right now, my college season has already began. I am back at Webber, studying and bowling. We have tryouts thought this week to determine the teams for the first tournament of the year. I am also excited to announce that I am now on Boom Apparel staff, I can’t wait to start wearing all of their great products and promoting them not only in the US but the UK too.
I will be blogging throughout this season, if you have any questions, or anything that you would specifically like me to blog about, e-mail; [email protected]
